Early Childhood Educator (Supply)

Under the general supervision of the Director, the Educator works directly with and takes responsibility for the children allocated to him/her to implement the approved programs of education and care.

1.  Plans, implements and evaluates developmentally-appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with the     corporation's philosophy

2.  Individualizes the curriculum

3.  Ensures guidance of children’s behavior that encourages positive self-concept

4.  Ensures the child’s environment is healthy and safe

5.  Ensures positive communication with parents

6.  Contributes to the ongoing operation of the centre



1. Working towards a Diploma in early childhood education or an equivalent diploma from an accredited community college

2. Be registered as a certified member of the College of Early Childhood Educators or can be Otherwise Approved by the Ministry of Education through our Daycare

3. Required to have a current First Aid and CPR certificate

4. Experience working with children, families, and staff in a team environment

5. Ability to work with families, staff and children given the philosophy of the Corporation as well as their unique needs

6. Ability to empathize with the children and interact with them in an educational, friendly and authoritative but gentle manner

7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work co-operatively as part of a team

8. Ability to work independently on tasks and written reports for presentation

9. Ability to handle stressful situations and multi task as required

10. Ability to follow procedures and protocols as per established policies

11. Some computer skills
